Begin at baby’s head and wash gently with an approved baby wash that is gentle and will not irritate baby’s skin or eyes.
Gently using a soft wash cloth, wash baby’s head and rinse it off, then proceed with the baby’s body. There is no need to scrub just gently use circular motions to clean away debris and dirt that has built up on baby’s body.
Once the baby has been bathed, you can use a dry towel to gently blot away moisture. Apply skin lotion to both protect and moisturize baby’s skin to keep it feeling wonderful.
Bath time can become part of a baby’s nightly ritual. It can be a way to help baby relax and get ready for bed.
This is also a bonding time for care giver and baby. To bath baby brings the baby joy, remember the baby came from a warm fluid filled environment and a bath is reminiscent of that time.
Starting at about the third month of life it will be necessary for baby to take regular baths. So be prepared and do it safely with a bath made for baby.
